Connect autobrr
autobrr can send release announcements to Scryer 0.21.10 or newer. Scryer matches each release to a monitored title, evaluates it using your acquisition settings, and sends accepted releases to its configured download client. Your delay profiles still apply.
Scryer provides Sonarr- and Radarr-compatible connections for this workflow. You do not need to install Sonarr or Radarr.
The connection fields and response handling described here were checked against autobrr 1.87.0 and Scryer 0.21.10.
Basic: Default Libraries
Section titled “Basic: Default Libraries”This section assumes you use Scryer’s default libraries, without additional copies of a title in custom libraries. You do not need library IDs for this setup.
1. Prepare Scryer
Section titled “1. Prepare Scryer”Before connecting:
- Add the titles you want and enable monitoring in Scryer. Pushed releases do not add missing titles to your catalog.
- Configure a download client and its library routing in Scryer. It must support the releases you intend to send.
- Create an API key in Profile → API keys, labelled
autobrr, and copy it when shown. The key’s account needs Manage titles permission on the destination library. If key creation is restricted, use an account allowed to create keys under Settings → Security.
An API key is required even when Scryer’s form login is disabled. See Authentication for permissions.
2. Add Scryer In autobrr
Section titled “2. Add Scryer In autobrr”In autobrr, open Settings → Download Clients and add a connection for each kind of content you want to send:
| Setting | Series and anime | Movies |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Scryer Series | Scryer Movies |
| Type | Sonarr | Radarr |
| Host | http://scryer:8080/compat/sonarr | http://scryer:8080/compat/radarr |
| API Key | Your Scryer API key | Your Scryer API key |
Replace http://scryer:8080 with the address autobrr can reach. The example works when both containers share a network and Scryer’s service name is scryer. In separate containers, localhost points at autobrr itself.
If Scryer is served under a base path, include it before /compat, for example https://media.example.com/scryer/compat/sonarr. Match autobrr’s TLS setting to your URL. Do not append /api/v3 or /release/push; autobrr adds the API path.
Leave Client Name empty and any legacy Client ID unset or 0. Scryer chooses the actual downloader through its own routing and rejects download-client overrides. This also applies to overrides on filter actions.
Use Test to check the connection, then save and enable it. Repeat for the other content type if needed.
3. Connect Your Filters
Section titled “3. Connect Your Filters”In autobrr, configure your indexer and announcement source, then create or edit a filter:
- Select the indexers whose announcements should reach Scryer and set your desired filter conditions.
- Add an action with type Sonarr for series/anime or Radarr for movies.
- Select the matching
Scryer SeriesorScryer Moviesconnection. - Save and enable the action and filter.
Use the Sonarr/Radarr action to let Scryer evaluate the release. Sending directly to a torrent client bypasses that decision.
4. Check The Result
Section titled “4. Check The Result”Watch autobrr’s release history and action logs after a matching announcement arrives. A successful connection test checks connectivity and authentication; it does not guarantee that a release will be accepted.
- Accepted: Scryer queues the release. Check Activity in Scryer.
- Held by a delay profile: Scryer stores the release for later evaluation. autobrr 1.87.0 reports temporary rejections through the same rejection path as other rejections, so read the reason instead of expecting a separate “Temporarily rejected” status. A held release has not been sent to the downloader yet.
- Rejected: Read the reason. An unmonitored or unknown title, an unsuitable release, or a duplicate can be an expected rejection.
Advanced: Multiple Libraries
Section titled “Advanced: Multiple Libraries”Use a separate autobrr connection for each destination library when you have custom libraries, such as separate HD and UHD movie libraries containing the same title.
The basic URLs are unscoped: they match authorized, monitored titles of the appropriate media type. They do not force a release into a library marked as default. If multiple catalog entries match, Scryer rejects the release instead of choosing a destination. A library-specific URL removes ambiguity between libraries.
Find The Library ID
Section titled “Find The Library ID”Send this read-only query to Scryer’s GraphQL API at /graphql, using the header Authorization: Bearer YOUR_SCRYER_API_KEY. Include Scryer’s base path before /graphql if one is configured. The permission filter returns libraries the key’s account can manage:
query AutobrrLibraries { libraries(permission: MANAGE_TITLES) { id name facet }}Copy the id of the intended library, not its display name or root-folder ID. The key’s account must have Manage titles permission there.
Add A Connection Per Library
Section titled “Add A Connection Per Library”Use the same settings as the basic setup, replacing the Host with a scoped URL:
| Destination | autobrr type | Host |
|---|---|---|
| Series or anime library | Sonarr | http://scryer:8080/compat/sonarr/library/LIBRARY_ID |
| Movie library | Radarr | http://scryer:8080/compat/radarr/library/LIBRARY_ID |
Replace LIBRARY_ID with the actual ID. Give each connection a distinct name, such as Scryer Movies HD and Scryer Movies UHD, test it, and select it in the appropriate filter action. Configure filter conditions so each action receives the releases intended for that library.
Scryer evaluates the matched title using its quality settings and the applicable delay profile, then uses its configured download-client routing. Scoping does not grant extra permissions, add titles, or resolve duplicate catalog entries within the same library.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”| Symptom | What to check |
|---|---|
| Connection refused or timed out | Use an address reachable from autobrr; check the port and container network. |
| 404 or an HTML page | Check the base path and /compat/sonarr or /compat/radarr suffix. A proxy login page is not the Scryer API. |
| Unauthorized | Use a valid Scryer API key, not your password or browser session. Check expiry, revocation, and whether the account is still allowed to use API keys under Settings → Security. |
| Library unavailable or incompatible | Check the library ID, the key account’s permissions, and the Sonarr/series or Radarr/movie pairing. |
| Multiple catalog entries match | Use a library-specific connection; if already scoped, resolve conflicting entries inside that library. |
| Download-client override unsupported | Clear Client Name and reset legacy Client ID to 0 on both the connection and action. |
| No releases reach Scryer | Check that the announcement source is working and the filter and matching action are enabled. |
