Working In Renaming Settings
Section titled “Working In Renaming Settings”If imported movie files are named wrong or landing in unexpected folders, review the templates here before re-running import work — placing files before fixing templates means renaming everything again.
If your media server can’t find Scryer-managed movies, confirm the folder and file path shape here matches what your media server expects before looking at the media server’s library config.
- Edit naming templates for movie files and folders.
- Preview how templates affect managed paths when the UI supports previews.
- Review how naming policy interacts with your configured library roots.
- Configure behavior for naming collisions.
- Update templates before importing a new group of movie files.
- Use a conservative collision policy when multiple tools can see the same root.
- Confirm downstream tools are happy with the new folder and file shape before broad rename work.
