General

General settings are where you set global behavior that isn’t specific to one facet — defaults that apply across Movies, Series, and Anime.

  • To access: Settings → General
  • To view: Requires manageSystemSettings app permission

If you’re setting up Scryer for the first time, configure the global defaults here before moving to any facet-specific settings pages.

If multiple facets are behaving the same unexpected way, check here before editing each facet individually — a shared global default is often the cause.

Here you review global application defaults and configure behavior shared by multiple facets. Adjust system-wide options before changing facet-specific settings, and confirm a setting is actually global before editing the Movies, Series, or Anime facet pages. Set these defaults during initial setup, and review them again after upgrading.

  • Installation — initial setup that establishes the values these global settings extend
  • Upgrading — instructions for moving to a newer build; review global settings after major upgrades
  • Movie Settings — facet-specific defaults that override or extend these global settings for movies
  • System Overview — instance health dashboard that surfaces actionable warnings related to global configuration
