Subtitles

Subtitles is where you connect Scryer to subtitle providers — each entry is a configured provider instance.

  • To access: Settings → Subtitles
  • To view: Requires manageCatalogSettings app permission

If you want Scryer to fetch subtitles automatically for managed titles, install a subtitle provider plugin first, then create an instance here before expecting subtitle behavior to work.

If subtitle fetching stopped working, check whether the instance here is still enabled and whether the plugin it depends on is still installed and current.

To add a provider, choose an installed provider type, enter the connection fields it requires, review any naming, language, or matching options it surfaces, and test or validate the connection when the UI exposes that action. You can also edit, disable, or remove instances.

The usual order is: install the subtitle provider plugin, then create the configured provider instance here. Review language and naming settings before enabling a provider broadly, disable an instance before uninstalling the plugin it depends on, and after changing an instance, validate one representative title flow so the broader library behavior stays predictable.
